Catherine Bird is a belly dancer based out of Tacoma, WA, USA. Forever evolving as an artist, she has been belly dancing for 14 years and specializes in Egyptian raqs sharki, American Cabaret, as well as fusion styles.

She is known for her captivating stage presence, elegant technique, and striking musicality. As a regular dancer at several venues throughout the Seattle area, she relishes spontaneous audience engagement and the unique inspiration that can only occur in moments of improvisation.

Her experience in events doesn’t stop at the stage, having been part of teams that coordinate some of her home town’s largest festivals.

Indeed, Catherine Bird aims to create an impact in every performance by drawing on this multi-faceted industry experience.

Catherine Bird has extensive training in all the styles of belly dance she performs in, is a RYT in the viniyoga lineage, and has a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

She utilizes her education in motor learning principles in her student instruction and enjoys a good tangent about the neuromuscular system when indulged.

Among her many accomplishments, she has performed as a part of Rachel Brice’s Datura Online Project, as an opening act for Jilina’s Belly Dance Evolution, and as a member of Moria Chappell’s Wild Saffron.

You can find her performing at public events several times a month in Tacoma, Seattle, and Olympia.
