The breakfast is now closed for registration, however, the march is free and open to the public. Isaac Newton Farris Jr., Dr. King’s nephew, will be the keynote speaker during the breakfast.
“He actually captures the essence of Dr. King,” Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Legacy Preservation Society member, Nicholas Crutcher, explained. “He favors him, he looks like him, the mannerisms and thereof, but even bigger than that, for our youth to be able to talk to him.
So, imagine him being here four years ago and he went to talk to an eighth-grade class. They’re now seniors in high school.”
The theme for the event and this year is “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence″ One member of the MLK Jr. Legacy Preservation Society, looked up to Dr. King as a child himself.
“When I was reading at a young age, and I came across Dr.
Martin Luther King’s autobiographies, etc., and I read them I said, ‘Wow, this is who I want to be,’” Crutcher exclaimed. “So, I dedicated my life to the youth to make sure that any community that we’re in, the people are well represented And not only that, but they take ownership.”
Crutcher started and runs a non-profit community development corporation, soon to be accessible across the nation.

I had to go back to what broke my heart. There wasn’t any superheroes that came, but not just that aspect, but everybody has a superhero in them. I believe Dr. King will say that God is in all of us, and if we identify with who we are internally, the world that we see outside would be so much greater.”
Crutcher named the organization after the family that adopted him.
He has a love for helping the youth and continuing Martin Luther King’s legacy and light in his own way.
“There was a young man, he was crying,” Crutcher said. “Camp was about to be over with graduation approaching it.
